
Dr. Philip McRae
Biography:
Dr. Philip McRae is the Director of the Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (AISI) at the University of Alberta, where he also teaches courses in the Master of Education in Educational Studies program.
Phil has worked in many secondary and post-secondary educational contexts while living and teaching in the Middle East (United Arab Emirates), Asia (Japan), Europe (Spain), and on the Blood (Kainai) Reservation in Alberta, Canada. These diverse cross-cultural education experiences are complemented by his tenure as a Provincial Manager of Learning and Technology with Alberta Education. Phil is a past winner of the Alberta Excellence in Teaching Finalist Award, and in 2007 he won the Alberta TeachersÕ Association Educational Research Award, and the University of AlbertaÕs Queen Elizabeth II Doctoral Scholar Award.
